My stay at The Dawson Hostel had its highs and lows. I really appreciated the perfect location, just a block away from St. Stephen’s Green Park and the lively atmosphere around Temple Bar. However, I struggled with the loud music from the club downstairs, which made it hard to sleep, especially on weekend nights. The facilities were basic, and I encountered some issues that detracted from my experience, but the staff were friendly and tried to help.

Rooms
6.0
My room was spacious and relatively clean, though it could use some upkeep with a noticeable iron burn on the carpet and some maintenance in the bathroom. The lack of an elevator also made carrying my luggage quite a hassle.
Service
7.0
The staff were welcoming and helpful (I appreciated their friendliness), but their response to some issues was a bit lacking, as I faced noise problems that weren't effectively resolved.
Location

The location was unbeatable, right near major attractions and vibrant nightlife, which was perfect for exploring Dublin during the day and enjoying the local scene at night.

Facilities were simple and could use some enhancement, with no residents' lounge and tired decor, but I did appreciate the staff's efforts to keep everything clean.

I recently stayed at The Dawson Hostel for a couple of nights, and I must say, the location is fantastic! It's close to major attractions, which made exploring the city a breeze. However, the atmosphere was quite off due to the presence of many long-term residents. The breakfast offered was basic, lacking options, though the coffee from reception was pretty good. Overall, it has its perks, but the vibe could definitely improve. 😊

Rooms
5.0
I stayed in a mixed dormitory room. The bed was comfortable enough, but the noise from the club below was quite disruptive, especially late at night. The decor could be more inviting too.
Service
7.0
The staff were generally friendly and helpful, assisting with my bags upon check-in. However, there were moments when the atmosphere felt awkward due to the number of long-term residents.
Location
10.0
The hostel's location is unbeatable, right near Trinity College and St. Stephen's Green, making it very convenient for walking to various sights and attractions in Dublin.
Dining
6.0
The complimentary breakfast was only continental, offering toast and cereal. I had hoped for a bit more variety, but it did the job to start my day.
Facilities
5.0
The kitchen facilities felt lacking, with limited cooking utensils and minimal fridge space. It could use a bit more organizing to accommodate the number of guests.

I had a pleasant stay at The Dawson Hostel, particularly due to its fantastic location near St. Stephen’s Green and Grafton Street. The rooms, while spacious and clean, did have some noise issues from nearby nightlife. Overall, it provided decent value for a city center option, though I did face some convenience challenges with shared bathrooms and luggage assistance.

Rooms

The room was spacious and clean, although the shared bathroom was less than ideal given the number of occupants. Privacy was also an issue.
Service

The staff were friendly and very welcoming, always eager to assist with any needs.
Location

The location was absolutely great, just a short walk away from major attractions and nightlife, making it very convenient for exploring.
Dining

The breakfast was limited to a continental selection, which was adequate, but I would have preferred more hot options.
Facilities

I appreciated the common spaces, but the shared bathrooms did tend to get dirty quickly given the number of guests.

I had mixed feelings about my stay at The Dawson Hostel in Dublin. The location was very nice, just a short walk from St. Stephen’s Green and the lively streets, making it super convenient for exploring. However, the noise level was definitely an issue, especially at night due to nearby nightlife. The staff was helpful, and my room was clean, but I struggled with the lack of lift access, which made moving my bags around a hassle.

Rooms
7.0
My room was clean and spacious with nice touches like tea and coffee provided. However, the lack of lift access forced me to climb several flights of stairs, which wasn't ideal.
Service
8.0
The staff was friendly and very responsive, especially Christopher, who was around whenever I needed help. They even assisted with directions and luggage, which I appreciated.
Location
9.0
The location was a huge plus for me; I loved being close to shopping and dining options. It was a vibrant area, full of life, perfect for a weekend break.
Dining
6.0
Breakfast was a continental self-service setup. It had a decent variety, but I felt it could be improved with a few more options.
Facilities

The hotel offered good facilities like housekeeping and laundry. The only downside was the accessibility issues due to the stairs, especially for those with heavy luggage.

However, I found the room to be a bit cramped and not as clean as I had hoped, which detracted from my overall enjoyment. On the plus side, the staff were really friendly and helpful, adding a warm touch to my stay.
